Intermediate (5-6)
Goddard Public Schools is home to two intermediate school buildings welcoming students in fifth and sixth grade.
During their two years in intermediate school, students will:
Experience a gradual transition from self-contained classrooms to more departmentalized classrooms.
Practice, refine, and grow academic skills to lay a solid foundation for the years ahead.
Experience opportunities to practice balancing more freedoms with more responsibilities.
Have opportunities to participate in some extracurricular activities (may vary by grade and/or school).
The role of the intermediate school staff includes:
Continuing to educate the whole child – academically, physically, and socially.
Catering to the unique needs of emerging adolescence.
Supporting students as they continue to grow and develop in physical, social, and emotional maturity.
