During their two years in middle school, students will:

  • Prepare for transition from the elementary/intermediate grades to high school.

  • Gain additional social skills, knowledge, and learning strategies that will be further developed in high school.

  • Develop enhanced learning and study habits, perseverance, and grit as they prepare for their future in high school and beyond.

  • Experience additional opportunities to balance more freedoms with more responsibilities.

  • Have opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities.

The role of the middle school staff includes:

  • Creating learning opportunities that challenge students to use reasoning and problem-solving.

  • Providing guidance in academics as well as social skills.

  • Supporting and nurturing students as they continue to grow and develop in physical, social, and emotional maturity.
